Mrs. Prum Samean, 47 years old, lives with her husband and their youngest son, Ry Mongol, in Svay Tun Toem village, Trapeang Sdao commune, Romeas Haek district, Svay Rieng province, Cambodia. Her husband, aged 48, works in construction to support the family. They have two sons; the eldest son is already married, while the youngest son, Ry Mongol, is 10 years old and currently studying in Grade 4. In addition, Mrs. Samean also takes care of her grandson, which increases the family’s daily responsibilities and financial burden.
The family owns approximately 3,000 square meters of paddy land, producing around 600 kilograms of rice per year. This amount is only enough to support the household’s food consumption for about 6 to 7 months each year. During the remaining months, the family must rely on temporary work and other small income-generating activities to buy food and meet their daily needs.
Their average income is estimated at around $25 per person per month, mainly earned through rice farming and construction work. However, this income is unstable and insufficient to fully support the family’s basic living expenses, healthcare, and educational costs for the children.
Despite their difficult situation, Mrs. Samean and her husband work very hard to improve their family’s living conditions. As this is a newly supported household, the Community Advancement Organization (CAO) has provided the family with a small loan of $100 together with technical training to help them begin raising chickens as an additional source of income. This support aims to strengthen the family’s financial stability and create more sustainable livelihood opportunities over time.
Ry Mongol is a hardworking and motivated student who wants to continue his education and improve his future. However, the family continues to face serious challenges in supporting his education. Due to limited income, they struggle to afford extra classes, school materials, and other educational expenses that are important for improving his academic performance and helping him continue his studies successfully.
Request for Support
To help Ry Mongol continue his education in better conditions, the family is requesting a monthly contribution of 30 euros per month. This support will help provide:
- Extra classes and educational assistance
- School supplies and learning materials
- Transportation and daily educational expenses
- Basic support to ensure regular school attendance
Your support would not only help improve Ry Mongol’s education, but also encourage the family as they work hard to build a more stable and sustainable future.
A small contribution can make a meaningful difference in helping this family move toward greater self-reliance and educational opportunity.
