What if your legacy became a seed of hope?
For more than 30 years, Mekong Plus has been working in Vietnam and Cambodia to fight poverty sustainably, empowering local communities to build their own future.
Through programs in education, health, microcredit, economic development, environment, and small infrastructure, more than 6,000 children each year receive scholarships, bicycles, and renewed opportunities for a brighter future.
Giving Lasting Meaning to Your Legacy
Leaving a bequest or donation to Mekong Plus is much more than a symbolic act — it’s a way to break the cycle of poverty and offer real chances to thousands of families.
It also means supporting a transparent organization with less than 10% administrative costs, recognized for its accountability and impact in both France and Belgium.
In France: A Legacy That Makes a Difference, Tax-Free
Bequests to Mekong Plus benefit from the tax advantages granted to organizations of public interest in France:
→ Total exemption from inheritance tax.

This means that every euro you pass on goes directly to Mekong Plus projects—without being reduced by taxes or fees.
Three types of bequests exist:
- Universal bequest: your entire estate goes to Mekong Plus.
- General bequest: you leave a portion of your estate (a percentage or share).
- Specific bequest: you choose a specific item (a sum of money, property, artwork, etc.).
In Belgium: The Duo Bequest – Smart and Solidary
Recognized as a registered charity, Mekong Plus Belgium benefits from reduced inheritance tax. The duo bequest offers a unique opportunity to combine solidarity and family transmission:
You designate both your loved ones (family, friends) and Mekong Plus as beneficiaries.
Mekong Plus pays the inheritance tax on behalf of your heirs, allowing them to receive more than they would otherwise — while supporting long-term community development.

Passing On Hope, Not Just Wealth
“As a child from a large family, I remember my parents’ generosity — they worked tirelessly so all their children could grow and thrive. They also taught us to be mindful of others, to share our luck.
I want to pass something on to my children, of course, but like me, they wish to share with those less fortunate. Mekong Plus makes that possible — it’s a way to continue the generosity of our parents and to take responsibility for others. I want life to go on after me, even after I’m gone.”
— Testimony from a Mekong Plus donor

A legacy is more than inheritance — it’s a mark of humanity that continues to make a difference long after you. Every gift counts, every project transforms lives.
