Srey Pov

Srey Pov is a 13-year-old girl living in Tasork Village, Kampong Ampil Commune, Romdoul District, Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia. In 2026, she is studying in Grade 6 at Samroung Primary School. She is known as a polite, hardworking, and motivated student who continues to study hard despite the many difficulties she faces in daily life.

Every day, Srey Pov walks approximately 3 kilometers from her home to school with her friends. Occasionally, one of her friends offers to share a bicycle ride with her, but this happens only sometimes. When she walks, it takes nearly 60 minutes to reach school. During the rainy season, the road conditions become more difficult, which sometimes causes her to arrive late or miss school.

Srey Pov comes from a very poor family. Although her family works in farming, they do not own any farmland. They live in a small and modest house and raise chickens to earn a little extra income. Her mother has been divorced for many years, while her father works in home construction in Bavet City to support the family. The household income is extremely low, estimated at around $20 per person per month, which is insufficient to cover daily living expenses, healthcare, and educational needs.

The family has four members:

  1. Ros Samon – grandmother, 72 years old
  2. Khoem Chantou – mother, 33 years old
  3. Nhean Chi – father, 35 years old
  4. Srey Pov – 13 years old, Grade 6 student

Because of financial hardship, the family struggles to support Srey Pov’s education. Every morning, she wakes up early to wash dishes and clean the house to help her grandmother before going to school. She does not have enough learning materials, and the clothes she wears to school are old and worn.

Her breakfast usually consists of leftover rice and food from the previous evening, and she brings drinking water from home every day. Despite these difficult conditions, Srey Pov remains determined to continue her education because she hopes to build a better future for herself and support her family one day.

However, due to transportation difficulties and ongoing family problems, she is sometimes late for school or absent from class. Without additional support, there is a risk that poverty may negatively affect her ability to continue her studies.

Request for Sponsorship

To help Srey Pov continue her education in better conditions, the family is requesting a monthly sponsorship of 30 euros per month. This support will help provide:

  • School supplies and educational materials
  • Food and basic daily needs
  • Transportation support, including a bicycle
  • School uniforms and clothing
  • Extra classes and educational assistance

Your support would help Srey Pov remain in school, improve her learning conditions, and give her hope for a brighter and more stable future.

A small contribution can make a meaningful difference in transforming the life of this hardworking young girl.
