Nguyễn Văn Khoa, born in 2016, is the second of three children. He lives with his elderly grandparents, both too weak to work, and his father, who suffers from mental illness and is unable to earn an income. His mother left in 2021, leaving Khoa’s father to care for the children. The family owns 1,300 dragon fruit trees but relies on renting them out for minimal income due to their inability to work the land.
Khoa was born with a heart condition and had surgery as a child, but the family can’t afford follow-up treatments. Their main income is €77 per month from government support for Khoa’s grandfather. Despite these hardships, Khoa and his siblings attend school, but the family needs urgent support to ensure the children’s education and well-being.
