The family currently has five members: a couple and three children. The eldest child, Kiet, is in Grade 5 and is a Thien Chi Scholarship recipient for the 2025–2026 school year. The second child, Khoi, is in Grade 1, and the youngest, Phuong, is 9 months old.
The family owns 300 dragon fruit poles. The husband stays at home to take care of the dragon fruit garden. However, during the harvest season, dragon fruit prices are low, resulting in very limited profit. When they have free time outside farm work, both husband and wife take on casual labor to earn additional income to support the family.
Mrs. Mai stays at home to care for the young children. The family’s economic situation remains difficult, with the husband being the sole main income earner. The husband earns about 12USD per working day from casual labor, working about 10–15 days per month. The family’s current monthly income is around USD 34 per month. The family respectfully requests a loan to invest in fertilizers and inputs for dragon fruit cultivation.
