Lai Huu Quyen, 12 years old and progressing grade 6, lives in a family of 5. His father, Mr. Chien has a leg disability and cannot work, staying home to manage household chores. His mother, Mrs. Phuong does seasonal work at dragon fruit gardens, earning about USD10 /day, but only works around 20 days per month. The family owns 400 dragon fruit plants, but recent flooding destroyed half the crop. Last year, they invested in a two-phase power system but suffered losses. They face a lot of difficulties when their three children are attending schools. The family’s income is unstable, and monthly scholarship support of 12 euro per month is urgently needed to help the children stay in school.
