Tran Van Kha (born 2016) lives in Ap 1, Luong Tam commune, Can Tho City. He is a 4th-grade student at Luong Tam 1 Primary School. Kha is a quiet, gentle and hardworking boy. Last school year, he achieved “Good Student” ranking — a small achievement for many, but for Kha, it is the result of extraordinary resilience in the face of hardship.
Kha has not lived with his parents since he was very young. His parents divorced and each built a separate life. Kha and his cousin now rely entirely on their elderly grandparents in a small home surrounded by rice fields.
His grandfather works as a farmer and takes any daily-labour job he can find to feed the two grandchildren.
His grandmother suffers from a spinal compression injury after a fall, leaving her in constant pain and unable to do heavy work.
The whole family survives on just 18 EUR per person per month — barely enough for food, let alone school supplies and uniforms.
Despite that, Kha never gives up. After school, he helps cook, sweep the yard, and feed the chickens. During flood season, he and his cousin wade through muddy fields to collect snails to sell — earning just enough to buy notebooks. Even so, Kha studies diligently with a bright dream:
“I want to become a teacher so I can take care of my grandparents.”
A simple dream — but only possible if he can stay in school.
We kindly call for community support to provide Kha with a study scholarship: 20EUR/month in 12 months.
This scholarship will help Kha buy school supplies, uniforms, and relieve the burden on his aging grandparents.
A Small Gift — A Life Forever Changed
