Saron Thida is a 10-year-old girl currently studying in Grade 4 at Samroung Primary School in Trapeang Damrei village, Kampong Ampil commune, Romdoul district, Svay Rieng province, Cambodia. Thida lives with her parents, who work hard to support their family through small-scale farming and informal labor.
The family cultivates just 0.15 hectares of land, yielding about 200 kilograms of rice per year. They also raise a few chickens and occasionally earn income through construction labor. Despite their best efforts, the family’s average income is only €15 per person per month—barely enough to meet their basic needs.
Thida is a dedicated student who dreams of completing her education. However, school-related expenses—such as learning materials, a uniform, and extra classes—total around €22 per month, a cost the family struggles to afford.
To help ease her daily challenges, the Community Advancement Organization (CAO) recently provided Thida with a bicycle. This small but meaningful support has made it much easier for her to get to school on time and attend regularly. Yet, the financial strain of ongoing school expenses remains a barrier.
To continue her education without interruption, Thida is now seeking a monthly sponsorship of €9 for 12 months. Your support could make a life-changing difference—helping a bright young girl stay in school and move one step closer to a better future.
