Phan Thị Ngọc Hà

Phan Thi Ngoc Ha, a grade 9 student this new school year, is from a family facing many financial and health challenges. Her father passed away due to illness, leaving her mother to raise three daughters on her own. Ha’s mother, Mrs. Thai Thi Thien Hiep is not in good health and suffers from frequent illnesses, which makes it even harder for her to support the family.

To earn a living, Ha’s mother makes and sells bread at the local market. However, her eyesight is poor and her mobility is limited, making it very difficult for her to move around and sell consistently. The family’s income is unstable – some days they manage to sell, while other days they barely earn anything.

Despite their struggles, the children are dedicated to their studies and help their mother as much as they can. Every evening after school, they assist with baking and preparing bread. When they have free time, they also help their mother sell at the market.

Ha’s eldest sister, Anh, had surgery for a thyroid tumor in July 2023. She still needs regular follow-up appointments in Phan Thiet and may require further checks in Ho Chi Minh City, but the family cannot afford the cost of traveling and medical care.

Given their difficult circumstances, a monthly scholarship of 11€ / month for 12 months would provide meaningful support for Ha’s education and ease some of the family’s burden.
