Pham Hoai Van, born in 2012, is currently a Grade 9 student living with her father, grandmother, and two siblings. Her parents divorced when the children were young, and their mother has since started a new family. Their father is now the main caregiver and provider for the three children and their elderly grandmother.
Van’s father works as a security guard at Ham Kiem Industrial Park. The family owns no farmland and depends almost entirely on his modest salary. Their house is small and deteriorating, with only two beds for five people. Van’s study corner is very simple, with only an old desk that she received from a relative. Despite the poor living conditions and lack of proper learning facilities, she continues to study hard and values every opportunity to stay in school. After class, she also helps the family by collecting snails, gathering vegetables, and caring for ducks. Van hopes to continue her education and one day attend university, while her father is determined to keep all three children in school despite the financial pressure.
Support of 30 EUR per month would help provide Van with school supplies, learning materials, and a proper study space. Part of the assistance could also contribute to essential household needs and minor repairs to their deteriorating home. This support would give Van a safer and more stable environment to study and help her continue working toward her dream of higher education.
