Nguyễn Nhật Anh Thơ

Thơ is a bright student growing up in a family of six in a dry rural area where life depends heavily on uncertain weather and unstable work. Her older brother left school after Grade 10 to help care for the younger children, while another brother is still in Grade 9 and the youngest sister is only three years old. With little support from relatives, Thơ’s parents built a small house themselves on a piece of land given by their family and work tirelessly every day to keep their children in school.
The family survives mainly from growing corn, raising a few goats, and seasonal labor. Because the land suffers from drought and lack of water, the harvest is often poor and income remains very unstable. Every morning at around 2 a.m., Thơ’s mother leaves home to pick okra, earning only about 3 EUR per shift, while her father takes any work available for around 4 EUR per day and also takes care of bringing the children to school. Even after long days of hard work, the family still struggles to cover food, school costs, and daily expenses.
Despite these challenges, Thơ is a hardworking and determined child who continues to do well at school. To help Thơ continue their education in better conditions, the family is requesting a monthly sponsorship of 30 euros per month. This support will help provide:
– School supplies and educational materials,
– Extra classes,
– Inputs for goat raising.
The support would not only help cover her education costs, but also allow the family to invest in goat raising and small farming inputs, helping them create a more stable income and reduce the pressure that keeps the children at risk of leaving school early.
