Le Ngoc Bao Nhu, born in 2016, is currently a Grade 5 student. She lives with her mother, younger sister, and maternal grandparents. Her younger sister, born in 2021, is attending preschool.

Nhu’s mother has gone through two broken relationships, and both fathers have left without providing support for the children. She now raises her two daughters alone and has moved back to live with her parents. She works at a garment factory, earning around 165 to 200 EUR per month, which is the family’s main source of income.

Life is particularly difficult because Nhu’s grandmother has diabetes and had to have her left leg amputated. She now uses a wheelchair and needs support with many daily activities. Her grandfather collects and trades recyclable materials, earning only around 60 to 65 EUR per month. With very little capital to purchase recyclables, he has limited opportunities to increase his income.

Despite the family’s difficulties, Nhu continues to attend school and her mother works hard to give both daughters a better future. Support of 30 EUR per month would help cover Nhu’s school supplies, uniforms, learning materials, and other essential education costs. Part of the support could also provide her grandfather with a small amount of capital to expand his recycling business, allowing him to buy and resell more recyclable materials and earn additional income for the family. This combination of education and livelihood support would ease the financial pressure on Nhu’s mother and help the family gradually become more financially stable.
