Bui Tuan Anh, a 9th-grade student, and her two-year-old sister, whose mother was incarcerated for a drug offense, reside with their maternal grandmother and uncle, a single father with a son. Due to the grandmother’s advanced age and health issues, the family’s income relies solely on the uncle’s daily labor. Tuan Anh, during summer breaks, had to take up work as a laborer in a dragon fruit plantation to earn money for book expenses and back-to-school tuition. Without any support, Tuan Anh faces the risk of discontinuing her education.
