Mekong Plus, a devoted organization dedicated to uplifting Vietnam’s most impoverished villages, has been transforming lives for over two decades. With a strong commitment to community development, Mekong Plus has been a driving force for positive change in the region.

Discover a Sustainable Revolution – Bamboo Bicycles

In 2012, Mekong Quilts pioneered the introduction of their first bamboo bicycle, igniting a revolutionary shift towards sustainable transportation. Crafted predominantly from bamboo, these bikes boast joint connections reinforced with hemp and synthetic fibers, ensuring a naturally dampened and comfortable ride that effortlessly traverses the breathtaking landscapes of the Mekong Delta.

Mekong Plus two to three-day tours, starting at VND2,000,000 per participant, offer a comprehensive experience beyond sightseeing. A significant portion of the participation fee funds the region’s development, supporting Mekong Plus’ various projects such as scholarships for the children, microcredits for small agricultural projects, tree planting activities, construction of small bridges connecting villages together, etc… The tours depart from Ho Chi Minh City, transporting participants to the rural district by bus.

Community Development at Its Core

Upon arrival in Long Mỹ, visit Ánh Dương Centre, Mekong Plus’ local partner, a social organization dedicated to helping the region’s poorest villagers improve their lives for nearly two decades. Alongside Mekong Plus, the center spearheads projects such as Mekong Quilts’ quilting and papier-mâché handicraft workshop, offering valuable insights into their transformative impact.
