Huynh Van Trieu

Huynh Van Trieu, a fourth-grader, faces the challenges of cerebral palsy, mild Down syndrome affecting his limbs’ movement, and language delay. In the midst of economic struggles, the family has been further impacted by the pandemic, compelling Trieu’s parents to seek employment in another region. This separation leaves Trieu and his sister under the care of their grandmother, who occasionally visits and sends money to support the two children. Moreover, the grandmother shoulders the responsibility of caring for her daughter, who is grappling with brittle bone disease.

Despite these adversities, Trieu exhibits determination, striving to keep pace with his classmates, albeit at a slower rate. The family’s income relies on the grandmother’s daily labor, earning an unstable income of $6.50 per day. Unfortunately, this income falls short in meeting the essential needs for the children’s living expenses and education.
